Yotaphone 2 Price in Pakistan

Yota Devices on Tuesday formally launched the YotaPhone 2, the follow-up to the world’s first dual-screen smartphone, boasting souped-up specifications that “sets new standards” in the category.

The follow-up to the original YotaPhone, which was launched in May this year, retains the benchmark-setting two-screen set-up — high-definition Amoled and electronic paper displays — while offering battery life of up to five days from a single charge, a clear display even in direct sunlight, plus other features that will appeal to users looking for a whole new experience in mobile phones.

“Nobody else can offer what the YotaPhone 2 has to offer,” Vladislav Martynov, chief executive officer of Yota Devices, said in response to questions at the Press conference at The Dubai Mall.

“Nobody else can offer you five days on a single charge and two days on a power-saving mode; any other smartphone in the market can give you only probably one-third on power-saving mode.”

“Also, nobody can give you the opportunity to use your phone in direct sunlight; just take any phone right now and go out and try it.”

The YotaPhone 2 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.2GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, an 8MP autofocus camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. It also comes with 4G LTE and NFC capabilities, and runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. The enhancements on the YotaPhone 2 were based on the feedback received from the first YotaPhone, which Martynov says served as more of a test run to see those who are willing to become adopters of “something new, something fresh”.

“We believe our technology constitutes an entirely new species of mobile device, not just by integrating a power efficient electronic paper display but by making two screens work in harmony,” he said.

Asked on market share expectations, Martynov said it was “too early” to tell.

“We hope it will be substantial in a year or so... we [also] hope that the Middle East can give us a very good market share, let’s see.”

Martynov also confirmed the opening of Yota’s office in Dubai, which he believes will help them reach out to consumers more and serve the market better.

The YotaPhone 2 will retail for Dh2,999, slightly higher than the prices of the flagship launches of other Android devices this year from Samsung, HTC and LG.

Asked on how this price would be justified, Martynov instantly responded: “These [features] are all so unique and we believe are so valuable to consumers. This is the value to consumers and that’s what justifies the price.”

“However,” he added, with a touch of light-heartedness, “if the price is a bit high, etisalat can provide plans so you won’t have to pay much.”

Etisalat, as was the case with the first YotaPhone, will once again exclusively offer packages for the YotaPhone 2. Jumbo Electronics is its exclusive distribution partner.

Among the key features of the YotaPhone 2 are Yota Always-On Display, which dramatically improves battery life, offering of up to five days of e-book reading; YotaEnergy, which automatically switches all key functions to the Yota Always-On Display once the battery reaches 15 per cent, providing an additional 8-1/2 hours of use; and YotaSnap and “Life after death”, which allows you to grab an important bit of information from the coloured screen and preserve it on the Yota Always-On Display, which you can still see even if the battery runs out completely.

The YotaPhone 2 is now available in 20 countries in the Middle East, the United Kingdom, the CIS and Europe, and it will be made available in Hong Kong towards the end of the year. For China and other Asian markets, the target launch is in the first quarter of 2015, with the US, Canada and Latin America following soon after that.
